To celebrate the start of a new school year, we chose to put our Kyker Kids Fun Jar (money that they've been saving up to use for some fun family time) to use and we headed to Frankies Fun Park! Frankies has just about every activity that kids think is awesome, including Laser Tag (which I happen to think is awesome and now after experiencing it my kids do, too).

Kids love go-carts and they love them even more if they can drive themselves. Frankies has a track specifically for 4-10 year olds so yes, even Ben got to drive a car by himself! I was a little uncertain about this and my concerns were proven to be wise when his first two starts had him crashing into other objects at full speed, but just as I was ready to wave the flag for him to come out he got the hang of it and was off! He actually steered himself around the course really well and totally loved it. The big kids did have to do a little fancy weaving as they came around him and there was that one time when he got himself turned around and finished the course in the wrong direction, but otherwise he was perfect. : )

But my favorite part? The Laser Tag battle.  A little background... One day, a long, long time ago, I brought several of my college friends (including Jimmy) to visit my dear friend Rachel in Nashville. It was on this trip that I got my first taste of Laser Tag victory. I was curious to see whether or not I still had it and was delighted to find that,  yes, I still do. I don't feel the tiniest bit bad about stomping my own kids and I'm actually quite thrilled that I stomped my husband. If you ask him about it he'll tell you that I used less-than-noble tactics, but go easy on him. It's been a while since he last got to wear his "expert" weapons qualification badges and being beaten by his wife might have rubbed a little salt into that wound.
