We started a new thing this year that we named Monday With Mom. Each Monday the bigger, non-napping kids take turns spending rest time downstairs with me. We read special books, play a game, do an art project, add pictures to their blogs, whatever they want to do, and usually have a small, yummy treat (though I always tell them to keep it a secret because I don't always do treats during MWM... though I think my cover has now been blown because two of the three read my blog...). It's been such a fun way to be intentional about spending time with them by themselves and we all look forward to it every week.

So today was Caroline's day and while we were making lunch I was asking her what she'd like to do. I cracked up laughing when she told me that she'd really been looking forward to scrubbing the floors with me and that maybe today would be a good day for that? So, that's just what we did. We scrubbed the floor and "told secrets" to each other. We were moving pretty quickly and I commented on how much faster that job went with two people working hard and, just like a girl, she said, "Yeah, things always go fast when you're talking. Lets talk some more!"

I hope she always feels like talking some more.
