There's always something about getting back to the daily normal that feels refreshing. After taking the month of December off, we've been back to school for almost a week now and are all glad for the structure and routine that it brings to our day.
But this week has brought a big change for our little school.... we've added a new student! Jack, at 20 months, has still been taking morning naps pretty faithfully. I knew those days were coming to an end so I decided to try and wean him off while school was out of session throughout December so that he would be accustomed to it by the time I would need him to be somewhat happy and content during our school hours. Lets just say, he didn't give it up without a fight... But, unless he wakes unusually early, he now joins us for the whole morning and is doing great!
Anyone who knows Jack knows that he can be an impish little mischief maker, so I knew I would need to have a plan for containment. He wasn't too convinced his first day in there and our school room was a little ... noisier... than we typically like for it to be, but by the second day he was a pro and does great.
Back to school and welcome to new students joy...
