I simply could not ask for a better husband to raise this passel of children with and I could not be more grateful that they get to call this man their daddy. He is everything I ever hoped for and far more.

We've been watching a precious little bluebird couple carefully build their nest underneath our mailbox, one piece of pinestraw at a time, over the last week. Travis found an egg in there this morning and ran in to grab the camera (he's my young apprentice : ). He captured such a great shot of the mama intently guarding her baby. After days of flying away as soon as they would hear our front door open, this mama wasn't about to leave her nest now that she has a baby to grow in there.

Nature study at its best joy....

While his parents were preoccupied by the running of their garage sale, our neighbor's three year old (being a very... helpful sort of boy) decided he'd spruce things up a bit and give the new vacuum cleaner a test drive. His oh-so-grateful mom found the evidence of his help a little while later.

Glad it wasn't my kid (this time) joy...

My little entrepreneurs took full advantage of the neighborhood garage sale (and the intense heat) this weekend and set up shop at the end of the driveway. That ice-cold lemonade and those homemade snickerdoodles were hard for most people to resist! Caroline might have done a little better if she didn't have to worry about her thieving little brother stealing her merchandise, but all three turned up a nice little profit They are getting closer and closer to becoming dog owners with every penny that gets dropped into their saving jars!

Lemonade and cookie stand joy....
